Mary is a post-graduate counselor who is pursuing her license as a Marriage & Family therapist in Pennsylvania. She received her faith-based counseling training at Grace Counseling Services fulfilling academic requirements, and earned her master’s degree in Marriage, Couples and Family Counseling from Geneva College. Mary acquired her certification as a Mental Health Coach, First Responder from Light University, obtained her certification as a Biblical Counselor from the Pittsburgh Laymen’s Bible Institute and is in the process of obtaining SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) certification. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and is a member of the Multi-Cultural Division of AACC.
Mary is passionate about helping married and unmarried couples navigate through and overcome unhealthy relational distress and teach them various skills which lead to a more viable and loving relationship. Her training and experience include helping couples work through infertility, infidelity, rebuilding trust, and develop effective communication skills. Mary believes that marriage is not a contract but a covenant between the couple and God and teaches techniques to help couples navigate through conflicts. She asserts that given the right coping and application tools, healing and restoration of relationship can begin. In addition to working with couples, Mary compassionately helps individuals work through the healing process of anxiety, depression, grief and diversity matters. Her therapeutic approach is Eclectic and integrates Christian-based counseling with evidence-based psychological theories which includes the use of Gottman techniques, Hope-Focused techniques, and Emotionally Focused therapy.
Although born and raised in Allegheny County PA, Mary and her husband have been Beaver County PA residents for 38 years. She and her husband have been married over 40 years and they have an adult daughter and an adult son and his wife, and three grandchildren. Mary loves singing and is one of the Praise and Worship leaders at her church and is a prayer intercessor. She enjoys traveling with her husband to visit the Creation Museum, experience The Ark Encounter and see various productions at the Sight and Sound Theater.
